The beautiful sunrise at Mount Sinai

I was picked up by the driver for the night hike to Mount Sinai, and then the driver picked up other people one by one. We were ten people for the night hike, four youngsters from Egypt, two ladies from U.S, and russians.

We had some conversation during our drive to St. Catherine's Monastery, the four youngsters were working at Microsoft in Cairo. We started our hike to Mount Sinai at midnight, took 3-4 breaks in between and reached the top around 3 AM. It was very cold and windy at the top, so we took shelter inside the mosque at the top.

Took a nap, and then woke up at sunrise, the scenery was beautiful. Took some photos, and then started our descent. Everyone was tired after coming down, the St. Catherine's Monastery was closed as it was friday. We headed back to our van, I reached Dahab around 11:30 AM. Took a shower and walked to Masjid Huda, but missed the Jummah prayer.

In the evening I went to DoubleTree by Hilton in Sharm, to collect my bib for Sharm El Sheikh Half Marathon 2025. I had booked my stay in Sharm for the night but it was cancelled by the property owner at the last moment.
