My initial plan was to visit Caucasus region for a month, spending 10 days each in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. When my Armenia eVisa application was declined multiple times, I changed my plan and thought of starting with Baku in Azerbaijan.

Although most of the people don't require a Visa to visit Azerbaijan, Indian passport holders require a Visa, getting an Azerbaijan eVisa was very easy. Applied for Azerbaijan eVisa on Azerbaijan eVisa website, after 3-4 days got my eVisa approved, it was a single entry eVisa with which I could stay for 30 days in Azerbaijan.

Booked an Air Arabia flight from New Delhi to Baku which had a layover in Sharjah, the connecting flight from Sharjah to Baku was also with Air Arabia.

For return journey, I booked Air Arabia flight from Baku to New Delhi which had a layover in Sharjah, the connecting flight from Sharjah to Delhi was also with Air Arabia. My experience with the Air Arabia staff at the Delhi International airport have taught me, that they always create problem if you don't have a return ticket. Now I book a return ticket and later change the destination or date of return accordingly.
